The Thrilling Conclusion to Neil's Car Drama 2010

At the risk of this blog becoming exclusively about my car troubles, I’m going to write one more brief update as to the status of my car. To recap, the trouble started in March and resurfaced earlier this month.

Long story short: my car is fixed. (Again. For now, at least.)

I got the car towed back to the shop this morning, where they informed me that the positive wire to the starter was worn out. Even when fully tightened, the wire wasn’t making a solid connection to the starter, preventing it from turning over.

The shop replaced the wiring, admitting it was something they should have caught the last time they replaced the starter. As such, they only charged me a few dollars for the parts and labor and picked up the cost of the tow truck, which seems more than fair to me.

I’m really, really hoping this solves the problems I’ve been having with the car for a while now.

Thank you to everyone who offered help and advice this weekend. I’ll have to owe you favors in the future, no doubt.

Maybe now I can get back to focusing on web design and stop stressing about my car.
